Drop-out fuses and load-drop-out fuses are outdoor high-voltage protectors. They are installed on the high-voltage side of the distribution transformer or on the branch line of the distribution line, and are used for short-circuit and overload protection of the transformer and the line, as well as for opening and closing load currents.

Drop-out fuses consist of an insulating bracket and a fuse tube. The static contacts are installed at both ends of the insulating bracket, and the moving contacts are installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube consists of an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer epoxy glass tube.

Load-drop-out fuses add elastic auxiliary contacts and arc-extinguishing covers to open and close load currents.

Installation location: altitude not more than (high altitude not more than);
Wind speed: not more than 5:200mm;
Installation location: there should be no fire, explosion hazard, chemical corrosion and severe vibration;
Earthquake intensity: not more than level;
Not suitable for places with combustion or explosion hazards, places with severe vibration or impact, places with conductive, chemical gas effects and severe pollution, salt spray areas.

The fuse consists of two parts: the base and the arc extinguishing device. The lower end of the arc extinguishing tube is equipped with a spring bracket that may rotate, which always keeps the fuse in a tense state to ensure the self-locking of the arc extinguishing tube in the closed position. When the line and transformer are overloaded or short-circuited, the fuse melts and the fuse is quickly pulled out of the arc extinguishing tube. The arc extinguishing tube is designed to be exhaust-type step by step to solve the contradiction of breaking large and small currents on the same fuse.
